Sleeping in Airports →
a friend is spending this night in dublin airport, which reminded me of this site. if you find yourself needing to spend the night at an airport (or also some train-stations etc.) then check it out for really useful tips and advice specific to each airport.
i got my baby back!
i mean, i got my computer back. she was in hospital for unspecified malaise and ever more frequent kernel panics. i knew the problem was serious, and when they couldn’t diagnose her problem i got rather worried.
in the end they did a motherboard transplant, in human terms that’d be similar to getting a heart transplant or such. or maybe even, considering that this is a laptop and a...

The end of my humanity
Humanity is living above the capacity of the planet to sustain it. They are already consuming more than the carrying capacity of the planet, and are increasing their rate of consumption. This can continue until the existing resources are exhausted, which will approach rapidly as consumption continues to rise. Eventually, of course, humans will have consumed all available resources, and population...

funny situation
i’ve recently been diagnosed with adult ADHD. at first i was very doubtful, but after reading up a bit, i have to agree that whatever ADHD ontologically is, i definitely have that profile. so we’ve been experimenting with samples of meds to try to figure out what would work best for me, and yesterday morning i was in the pharmacy with my first prescription for a box of ritalin.

piercing
If i have money on my bank account tomorrow - a distinct possibility - then i’m getting an eyebrow piercing tomorrow afternoon. i’m also getting a new bar for my industrial, with a star in the centre.
*pondering*
Should i get anything else done while i’m there?

things in my body
Quite often i imagine that there’s objects in my body. Usually they would imply severe injury or death, if they were really there; the most common of these images is of a thin dagger stuck between my ribs and deep into my heart, the heart cramping violently around the steel. Another common one is of a steel bar smashed through my temple, turning my brain into so much slurry.
Today...

Little Black Book of Griselidis Real:Days and...
i was randomly browsing in the book-store today when i came across this book. i am fascinated by prostitution, in particular when it is a chosen with full agency, and have cautiously considered it for myself. What’s more, Griselidis Real lived and worked in this town, and her name is spoken with deep respect by people i respect.
i read a bit inside, and next week when i have money i will...
vamps and zombies – the class struggle →
Linked to me by a revolutionary friend.
The only bit in there which i object to is this: “The excitement of the vampire story is that the girl half-wants to be bitten. Buried in there is a highly suspect rape fantasy […].” There is no rape fantasy, i want my vamp to bite me.
sulphur pyramids
i was half-watching a documentary on the Athabasca tar sands in northern Alberta. It was mainly arial photography, simply allowing the scale of the whole project to sink in. What caught my eyes were the sulphur pyramids. The bitumen extracted from the tar sands (in open cast mining) is heavily loaded with sulphur. During the refining process, the sulphur is extracted, and then cooled until it...

More experimental medication
So after i tried ritalin and didn’t like it, mainly for the addictive thought-patterns it provoked (for the record, i ended up taking that second pill even though i had told myself i definitely wouldn’t), my therapist has decided to switch tactics, and has given me clonazepam, i.e. a benzo. i’m kind of curious about her thought processes in giving me a benzo, considering that the...

It took me only three days to figure out what account i’d used to sign up for tumblr. So after three days on this replacement computer i’ve finally been able to sign in here.
In other news, my computer is at the doctors, no idea how long it will be till i get it back.
