There are no words for this. You wonder why we’re angry; why we won’t stand for your bullshit. Look at this. LOOK AT THIS. A white woman attacking a Rroma mother AND HER BABY. I’m literally crying right now, here in my chair, in the office at work. It’s something I’ve dealt with in my life more than once and something I fear every day. They then picked up old fruit from the stalls and were throwing this at the Romany Gypsies, this escalated as the Gypsies responded verbally. Then further as one teenage girl found old stallholders chair and ran after the Gypsies hitting the woman pictured from behind. The woman tries to protect her baby wrapped in her arm in blankets”

Would it be insulting or out of line to tag this ‘Gypsy’ specifically because the white kids who use that term and track that tag DESPERATELY NEED TO SEE THIS?

Um, arent people constantly insisting there is no racism in europe or something?

In my experience it goes something like this:
Everybody: *talking about racism*
White Euro Asshole: “We don’t have those problems in my country.”
Everybody: “…”
USian: “What about the Rroma, everybody treats them like shit?”
White Euro Asshole: *blatantly racist comments about how stereotypes about Rroma are totally all true and they totally deserve the treatment they get, you’re American you don’t understand*
USian: “WTF with the racism!”
White Euro Asshole: “It’s not racist though, if you lived here and dealt with them you would understand.”
…seriously, I’ve seen this go down pretty much verbatim multiple times.

Dude, fuck you all. Not every European is like that.

No, not every white European is like that—but which one is holding the chair and swinging it at a MOTHER HOLDING A BABY??!!

Racism in Europe is ugly. And it’s widespread. And it’s not just in the neonazi fringes. And a heck of a lot of us are blind to it. We think we had the nazis and now we’re immune to being racist, and that makes us blind to how very racist we are in everyday life.
